Youth & Elder Advisory Councils
Our Youth and Elder Advisory Councils create meaningful spaces for youth and Elders to share their voices, wisdom, knowledge, and lived experiences, helping guide the direction of our programs and the work we do in community.
We believe that good work begins by listening.
There is a place for your voice, your knowledge, and your story here.
Elders Council
Our Elders Advisory Council gathers monthly for an Elders Luncheon, with time set aside for good food, conversation, connection, and the sharing of knowledge.
Each year, Elders are also invited to an Elders Retreat, creating more time together to strengthen relationships, reflect, share teachings, and offer guidance for the path ahead.
Youth Council
Our Youth Advisory Council meets bi-weekly, creating a welcoming space where young people can connect, share ideas, speak about what matters to them, and help shape programs designed for Indigenous youth. We believe youth are not only leaders of tomorrow—they carry important knowledge, gifts, and perspectives that our communities need today.
By listening across generations, we hope to create programs that honour where we have come from, respond to what is needed today, and support strong pathways for generations to come.
Come Sit With Us.
We welcome Indigenous youth and Elders who are interested in being part of these gatherings. Whether you are ready to participate or simply want to learn more, we invite you to connect with us. Sign up for more information, and a member of the Rise Up team will reach out to share more about upcoming gatherings and ways to be involved.
